2019 Inter County Report

Cheshire swimmers faced fierce competition on their return to Division 1 of the Inter County competition held in Sheffield’s Pond Forge pool on the 6th October.

The team fought hard in their respective races with half of them recording personal best times.

Best placed were Amy West (Stockport Metro) and James Pennington (Altrincham) who both finished in 5th place in the 14/15yrs 100m Free and Backstroke events respectively, both in Personal Best times.

Also finishing in the top half in their events, with PB’s, were Hermione Rose  and Beth Robinson (Stockport Metro), Daniel Kinsella, Ronnie Weall and Millie Duncan (Warriors of Warrington), Ashley Donaldson (Altrincham), Davey Unwin (Romiley Marina/Stockport Met).

Sophie Weston (Warrington Warriors) had a successful Meet with PB’s in both her individual races and Ben Davison (Trafford Metro) and Lewis Turner (Wirral metro) also reduced their previous best times.

Unfortunately the team finished in 17th position overall, losing out by a couple of points, which means that next year Cheshire will be competing in Division 2 again.
