SUCCESS FOR THE COUNTY

Congratulations go to the Cheshire team on winning  Division 2  of the Go Cardless Inter County Competition in Sheffield.

Fourteen Personal Bests from the twenty six individual events contested were recorded throughout the age groups.

There were four Individual winners, Jake Thistlewood in the 12/13 100 Back, Zoey Rogers and

Mir Al-Dabak14/15 100 Free and Kate Schillinger in the 14/15 100 Back.

Encouraged by the team, other members of the squad moved up the rankings with a further nine swimmers finishing as runners-up in their respective races, they were:- Grace Johnson (2/13), Iris Hurst & Eleanor Armstrong (14/15), Lily Horton & Abbey Roscoe (16/17), Cheuk Hei Li & Jake Thistlewood (12/13) Elliot Hughes (14/15) and Henry Taylor916/17).

The six Medley relay events produced excellent results for the County producing a first, three seconds, a fourth and a sixth place out of the seventeen Counties competing in the Division.

The last event ( the Cannon relay) the Cheshire team, consisting of Eloise Perritt, Simon Harrison, Isla Moss, Zoey Rogers, Oliver Tang and Mir Al- Dabak hit the pads first to seal their success.

Cheshire scored 532.5 points with Cambridgeshire second with 446.5 and Herts third with 419.

A resounding victory.

Cheshire has now been promoted to Division 1 for the 2026 competition.
