One minute of applause was heard from the swimmers, administrators, spectators and officials at the Cheshire Championships 2026 in honour and celebration of the life of Allan Hallmark who passed away shortly before this year’s competition.
As many will know, Allan was involved with Cheshire swimming for several decades. He swam with Macclesfield Masters, where he served as Chairperson for many years. He was ever present at the poolside during Cheshire county championships as gala announcer for over 30 years, rarely missing a session unless his beloved Manchester United were playing at home. He worked for many years as a careers officer, helping scores of young people throughout East Cheshire with their career pathways.
Allan was greatly appreciated and will be missed by so many in our community.
