Knutsford Vikings Assistant Head Coach / Club Coach

Knutsford Vikings is a friendly family-based swimming club in East Cheshire. We encourage our swimmers to the best that they can be by developing their skills in an enjoyable, supportive environment. As an inclusive club we cater for all levels of swimmers from stage 7+ upwards to County and Regional level. The club structure is:

• Foundation – Stage 7+
• Junior Performance – working towards Counties
• Senior Performance – County working towards Regionals

As the club continues to grow we are looking to expand our coaching team:

Assistant Head Coach 

The successful applicant will assume responsibility for our Junior Performance Squad. The role will include planning and delivering several sessions per week (3-6hrs pool side), liaising with swimmers and parents and reporting progress to the Head Coach. 

You will also support the Head Coach with the Senior Performance Squad and our Foundation Lead Coach plus attend internal and external swim meets.

Ideally, applicants should have a background in competitive swimming, with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication and organisational skills.

This role will suit a Swim England Level 1 or 2 Coach who wants to take that next step towards being a Head Coach.

A suitable qualification that allows the successful candidate to plan and deliver land training is also desirable but not essential.

Club coaches

Our club coaches play a valuable role in developing and supporting swimmers across all levels of the club. This role offers flexibility in hours since we work as a strong team ensuring that all sessions are fully covered by qualified coaches/teachers.

This position will suit a Swim England Level 1 or 2 Coach or Level 2 Teacher who is looking for a rewarding, flexible engagement within a coaching environment.
